Domaine Olivier Fichet
The Domaine was created in 1976 by Francis and Christiane Fichet who previously sold their grapes to the coop. In 1988 their sons Olivier (winemaker) and Pierre-Yves (vineyard manager) took over. They have since increased the size from 11 to 20 hectares and raised the quality level significantly.
The lieu dit "Chateau London" is one of the oldest and most reputable terroir in the Maconnais. This is due largely to its unique white limestone content in the chalk and clay and to the microclimate which brings extra humidity and morning fog. Francis Fichet was one of the first to plant Pinot Noir in the highly Chardonnay dominant region.
His original plantings are now over 30 years old and are blended with Pinot that Pierre-Yves planted in 1994. This is a very high quality offering at this price. Domaine Fichet is located in Burgundy in the small village of Igé, and more precisely in the hamlet of Martoret.
Domaine Fichet owns today 24.5 ha of vineyard, 13.5 ha of Chardonnay, 6.5 ha of Pinot Noir, 3.5 ha of Gamay and 1 ha of Bourgogne Aligoté.
